Waiting and Listening is Harder Work than Working Hard

I’ve talked about the saying ” God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called” in the past. I heard someone expound on this concept recently. They said that God wants our availability, not just our capability.

I’m not comfortable sitting around and waiting for God – I want control and I’d rather know that I’m working hard. And yet I know that God reminds me frequently to stop working so hard and slow down and just be ready. Objectively I understand that God knows better than me, but I just don’t feel ‘right’ if I’m not doing something right now, today. So I have to ask myself: Do I trust Him enough to do it anyway?
